The Old Boys Motorcycle Workshop is a small friendly group of people with a common interest in motorcycles, run for ourselves, and by ourselves as a hobby business with a shoestring budget, with most of the small profit we generate being reinvested back into the business, there is no ambition to be part of the crowd or become a multi-conglomerate, while we like to get out on our machines a few hours before lunch and a few after is plenty, our ever growing cohort of Ladies, together with an awesome interest forming from our younger under 50s, the “Young Guns” ! We do make up a very mixed bunch. 

Having tried to  retire (five times now !) some 15 years ago, and quickly getting bored with manicuring the lawn, odd jobs, and walking to dog, our Founder  (John D) found himself easily spiralling into a nasty dark place, giving rise to depression and other issues.

 However, a solution was found (he’s good at that !) and it can be summed up in one word “PURPOSE”, and a Purpose is exactly what The Old Boys provide – Something to do, something to look forward to, a problem and a challenge to solve, a Project to embark on, and most importantly some very interesting and like-minded Compadres with whom to enjoy Life with….  

The opportunities provide “Purpose” and in bringing people together who understand and have experience of Life is a brilliant way, why should all the knowledge and expertise learned over the many years be wasted ?  Being over 50 is not ‘Over-the-hill’ it is, in fact, just the START of a new chapter. 

The Old Boys Motorcycle Workshop is all about exploiting this new chapter of your Life, to give Purpose, a reason to be, and massive shot of adrenaline in the arm of Satisfaction and self-worth…  We, together arrange strange and challenging trips (UK and Overseas), together think up ideas, events, projects, and if along the way we can raise a few quid for ourselves brilliant, and if there is a little surplus left over to offer support a few other Good Causes that would be great also !!

It is easy to read things out of context, for example our name “The Old Boys” does not actually relate to Blokes over 60, but is what we used to call a clutch of classic motorcycles we had….  So please understand why we do not have a big presence on Social Media, drop by and make your own mind up !

Don’t be put off if you don’t have or like motorcycles – Many of our ‘Friends’ drive vehicles with a totally unnecessary number of wheels, sometimes up to 18……!!  EVERYONE is welcome to participate get involved in any of The Old Boys Motorcycle Events and any of our activities car owners, push-bike riders, beach buggy owners, RVs, trucks and dare we say even those new fangled electric what-cha-ma-call-its!! –

What is important to us and that we promote to the World are the good old school standards that we hang on to and the person that you are inside, nothing else matters, no judgement, no gossip, no chat room, and no bad vibes, we are blind to colour, creed, religion, faith or gender ! Just good old fashion Old Skool ethics, morals and positive thinking …. Here, your pint is never half full – It is always FULL !!
